The Easiest Way To Prepare Lemon Rice

 Regular food items are indeed monotonous. You can try the lemon rice recipe to escape from this monotony. In order to prepare lemon rice, it requires very few ingredients and a very little time.

Lemon Rice Recipe Ingredients:

  • Basmati rice
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • 3 pieces of red chillies
  • 1 tablespoon black mustard seeds
  • 2 tablespoon refined oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon black gram or bengal gram
  • 15 /20 curry leaves
  • 1/4 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • Salt according to requirement
  • A handful of peanuts
  • 1/4 tablespoon turmeric powder


  • In order to prepare lemon rice we need 3 cups of basmati rice  (or fix the quantity according to your choice).Cook the rice in a pressure cooker adding water in a proportionate ratio (1:2 ratio would be perfect rice: water).Cook the rice to grainy and do not make it mushy
  • Now put the frying pan in the gas oven (keep the flame low to medium )and add two tablespoons of refined oil to the frying pan. After making the oil warm add 1 tablespoon black mustard seeds,3 red chillies slightly crushed. Then add 1 tablespoon black gram or chana dal (Bengal gram). Now fry these added ingredients in low to medium flame
  •   There is no need to use soaked dal. After frying, the mixture now add 1 tablespoon minced ginger into it. Fry the minced ginger with it
  • Now add a handful of peanuts in the frying pan. Fry the peanuts with the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes in low to medium flame.
  •   Add 15 -20 curry leaves in it. Again fry the leaves for 30 to 40 seconds. Add salt according to your taste and 1/4 tablespoon turmeric powder in it and mix it thoroughly.
  •  As soon as the mixture is ready add basmati rice and mix again thoroughly. Always try to keep the flame in low to medium heat.
  •  After that, add red chillies with the rice. Put the oven off and add lemon juice in it. You will notice the colour of the rice is slightly changing.
  •  Finally, your lemon rice is ready. It can be eaten with coconut chutney, curd, peanut chutney, or with tomato and onion chutney.
