Paneer ( Indian version of the cheese) is a rich source of protein. It is also low in calories. As Indians, we have a strong and close relationship with paneer. It is versatile too. As a result, one can make hundreds of dishes using paneer. Moreover, paneer contains healthy fat which makes it more acceptable to those who are conscious of their diet. The recipe of dry paneer is one of best dishes which you can make using paneer.
Given below is the recipe of dry paneer.
Dry Paneer Recipe Ingredients:
- Paneer 300 grams
- Curd 2 tablespoon
- Salt (as per taste)
- Turmeric powder 1.5 teaspoon
- Tomato 1 (King Size)
- Ginger 1 inch
- Kashmiri red chilli powder 3 teaspoons
- Green chillies 3 /4 pieces
- Refined oil 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon 1 inch
- Cloves 5 to 6 pieces
- Cardamom (small) 2 pieces
- Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
- Gram flour 1 tablespoon
- Fenugreek or kasuri methi 1 teaspoon
Preparation Of Paneer For The Recipe
Take 300grams of paneer and cut them into proper shapes and sizes.
Then keep the uniformly cut pieces in a separate bowl. Therefore, add salt (as per taste), 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/4 kashmiri red chilli powder in it. Mix all the ingredients well with the pieces of paneer.
How To Prepare Gravy For The Dry Paneer:
Making gravy for the dry paneer is an important step. In order to make the gravy take 3 green chillies, 1 inch ginger and 1 tomato ( king Size) .Therefore, put these ingredients in a mixing grinder and make a paste. After that, pour the paste in a separate glass bowl.
How To Fry Paneer:
Take a kadai ( a non stick cookware) and put it in the gas oven. Therefore, pour 1/2 cup of water in it. Always try to keep the flame of the gas oven in low to medium heat. Let the water boil for a couple of minutes.
On the other hand, put another kadai ( a nonstick cookware) in the other oven and pour 1.5 tablespoon refined oil in it. As soon as the oil gets warm, fry those pieces of paneer ( smeared with salt and turmeric). Do not fry deep these pieces.
Now as you have finished the process of frying paneer pieces, collect these fried pieces and pour them in the mildly boiling water. In this way, the pieces of paneer will become softer. Switch off the gas oven.
Preparation Of Masala Mix:
In the following step, you are advised to add 1-inch cinnamon, 2 cardamoms ( slightly crushed), 5-6 cloves in the same nonstick cookware ( kadai) which is used to fry the paneer pieces.
There is no need to add additional refined oil in it. Switch on the gas oven and keep the flame low. Therefore, fry these ingredients for a couple of minutes. As a result, a mild fragrance will come out of the fried masala. Then you have to add ginger and green chilli paste in it. Fry them together for a couple of minutes. After that, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, remaining kashmiri red chilli powder, 1 teaspoon cumin powder and 1 teaspoon coriander powder should be added to it. Fry all the ingredients together for a couple of minutes more. Masala mix for the paneer is ready.
Preparation Of Curd For The Paneer:
Take a glass bowl and pour 2 tablespoons curd in it. Therefore, add 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon gram flour in it and stir these ingredients with the curd with the help of a spoon. Curd is ready.
Final Step: Now in the final step, pour the curd mixture in the masala mixture. Then pour carefully all the fried paneer pieces in it. Always try to keep the flame of the gas oven in low flame. Then cook these mixtures together for 5 -6 minutes.
After 6 minutes, take a lid and cover it .wait for 3 minutes. Switch off the gas oven.
Uncover the lid exactly after 3 minutes. In the end, add kasuri methi ( fenugreek) powder in it and mix well.
Dry paneer is ready. Serve hot.
